Lately I have been thinking about the Artist I would love to see in my life time play live, this thought has implanted itself on my mind, which has led me to start thinking about Artist I would have loved to have met while they were still here, this in turn led me to think about songs I wish I had sung or had written. So I have decided now is the time, now is the time to go to as many concerts as one can fit into one life time, sing and learn as many songs as my voice will allow there is no moment like the present to celebrate everything about Music. My guitar sits on my bed with sheets of music surrounding it while candles melt around me as I learn Hendrix , Morrison, Jackson, Brown, Rush, The Who, The Clash, The Boss…oh the Boss, I will see you this summer I am sure. I want James Vincent Mcmorrow to visit me at dawn and sing to me a song I wish I had written…lol I know nuts but I love his voice http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kR3HRMO7nZg. I have complied a list of concerts to see in the next few months, some big and some small, I am super excited and ready to dance my butt off and sing at the top of my lungs.
The List,
Bruce Springsteen
Tom Petty and the Heart Breakers
The Cranberries
City and Color
Dave Matthew’s Band
Red Hot Chile Peppers
The Boxer Rebellion
Brian Adams
Rise Against
Leonard Cohen
Garbage
Joe Purdy
RadioHead
We hope everyone is doing well. We certainly are and we are so excited that you are friends of ours.
On Tuesday we went to see the All American Rejects. We have always been a fan of them and we commend them for keeping us and many others entertained for the last 10 years. Still a favorite “Gives you hell”….don’t we all love this song…I dedicate this song to my evil ex-boyfriend. Look at me now…Lol!!!
Next week we are off to LA! Can’t wait. First stop is Hugo’s for their turkey burger wrap…oh ya, cause its that delicious. I Think we think about Hugo’s at least once a week…addicted.
We will keep you updated on our LA shenanigans that’s will for sure involve music, sunshine and food.
DEVIL
Written by Hanifa and Juliet
VERSE ONE
Empty cries close to me
I was never what you need
City lights paint the skies
As your memories
Kiss the streets
Oh oh oh oh. Oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh. Oh oh oh oh oh oh
CHORUS
Who let the devil in
Who let the darkness in
Who let the devil in
Who let the sorrow in
VERSE TWO
Lonely nights call to me
As the shadows watch me sleep
Broken hearts never lie in the madness
That you speak
Oh oh oh oh. Oh oh oh oh oh oh
(who let the devil in)
Oh oh oh oh. Oh oh oh oh oh oh
BRIDGE
And it rained down as you walked out
Cried at your feet
Oh oh oh oh. Oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh. Oh oh oh oh oh oh
CHORUS
Who let the devil in
Who let the darkness in
Who let the devil in
Who let the sorrow in
We just finished a video for our song Devil which will be on our new album. It was a fun two days of filming. Some of the highlights include running in 5 Inch heels….and yes we made it out alive with no broken ankles. Although I’m sure on video it will look more like a girlie run more than anything. We also did some filming in an ally way and had to dodge a stray pitbull and it’s pal a mutt mixed with ……we don’t know what!! Scary diva moment! We just know that breaking our ankles at the moment would have been far more appealing than being mulled by Cujo and his sidekick. Luckily our camera savior Bruce showed up and saved the day.
There were tons of paparazzi in the market where we filmed on day two which made us super excited!!! What’s a girl to do when there are cameras in her face…..love it!
The two days were amazing. Thanks to our crew. We got a dream location and dream crew and can’t wait for you guys to hear the song and see the video for Devil.

So as most artist know, times can be hard. It’s just not easy to be creatively cool. So we decide we would start a brief and short insight into the world of the artiste and the problems one may encounter if they choose to make this wonderful and passionately blissful hobby….a career.
So the other day we were working on some tunage with our bass playa Matt and we ran into a snag. BAND PROBLEMS!! We didn’t have a capo, for those who don’t know what a capo is, its a tool used on the neck of a guitar or for technical terms stringed instrument – its purpose is to shorten the playable length of strings…and bam raising the pitch yall! Cool eh?!
So back to what I was saying, no capo… and we needed one! We have a situation on our hands. What’s a capo less player to do? We have a solution…make one. Yes! Make it yourself using a pen, preferably one that won’t snap in half and spill ink everywhere (if this happens don’t blame us, what works for us may not work for you lol!) and some cables….and done.
Matt is a genius! We attached a picture for you to see, it worked like a charm.
There you have it.
BAND PROBLEMS saving one artist at a time.
We love seeing live bands, and always like to check them out in Toronto. Last night we decided a musical seduction was long overdue. Who could satisfy this insatiable desire you ask? There is no other, there is no better musical lover to discover and rock with than the kings of soul-rock-punk: THE MARVELOUS DARLINGS. It was so nice to see our boys again…a mini reunion. Just a reminder that there’s no better bond than the bond built between people who share the stage.

We think you should take a listen to them, you will fall in love with them as much as we have. The musical genius created amongst them is seductive madness…hey wait a second let me play them while I write this…yeah thats what’s up! I suggest you do too!
Check the review by Exclaim Magazine. They dig it like we do!
Hey Yall!
Happy Thursday. The snow has finally made it’s appearance and become center stage in Toronto (well…Kind of). The wind chill seeps to your bones reminding you that she, Winter, has finally arrived.
Our favorite thing to do, is to sit by the fireplace write music, indulge our taste buds with delicious Ghiradelli hot coco and homemade warm cookies. Definitely gets you in the writing mood.
We want to let you in on something about us. It’s something we do every Sunday, watch football. Yes! In between vintage shopping, lemon facials, getting our hair and nails done. We always make sure we have time for our favorite team. We are Green Bay Packers fans. I know right?! It’s hard for most to believe that we never miss a game. We are either glued to our living room couch on Sunday or we catch the game in reel time on NFL.com thanks to our trusted friend, the iPad. Oh yes, the love is real. The iPad made an appearance at the Christmas dinner table…we can’t miss a game! We love the Packers, they have a lot of heart and determination. You can tell they are a family. We feel as if we are on the field with our boys feeling every triumph and every defeat.
I guess we like the game so much because at any given time anything can happen. It’s a lot like life. What matters is how you rise to the challenge. Even when all odds are against you, you’re tired, and feel it’s the end of the line. You get up and keep going. Knowing that an opportunity missed is another opportunity gained. As artist this is one of the greatest challenges, believing when no one else does, rising to the occasion, getting up and opening your own doors even if there’s no one there to lend you a hand. We are fortunate to be surrounded with a great team of people. Oh we must say THANK YOU.
To our Wisconsin boys, Green Bay! You have not fallen. You still remain victorious and we shall see your magic on the field once again.
So we are constantly being inspired by other artist here are 5 that bands we feel you should check out if you have not already. Let us know what you think.
Sheepdogs – Saw these guys at edge fest in Toronto last summer. Great guys, love stalking them backstage. So much yummy stuff in this video. I can smell the 70’s in this video love love love.
Angus and Julia Stone- this song makes me want to dance naked in the rain. Angus is so cave man hot!!! I love the simplicity of the song.
The Black Keys- I mean this whole album is killer, cant wait to see them in March. Love the video, i have stolen some of these dance moves. LOVE IT! For all our lonely boys.
Howler – Cant get enough of these guys. Supper fun track great for a road trip.
Warpaint – These ladies are sexy and super cool. Harmonies = major goose bumps. Discovered them awhile ago. I think they bring new life to a classic.

Few more sleeps til the Big Guy is here!!!!
Oh I hope we made the nice list this year!!!
This is such a magical time of year, filled with friends family and excitement in the air.
For us the holidays have always been filled with great food, lots of laughter and music of course. We always spend lots of time in the kitchen with our beautiful mother baking cooking and dancing. Bonny M is usually in the background on full blast. This year we will be doing much of the same, with the addition of all of you who have given us the best gift this season, which is your love and support.
So from our family to yours, we wish you all the very best this Holiday Season.
Xoxo
